Historia
From such cult hits as "Raising Arizona" (1987) and "The Big Lebowski" (1998) to major critical darlings "Fargo" (1996), "No Country for Old Men" (2007), and "Inside Llewyn Davis" (2013), Ethan and Joel Coen have cultivated a bleakly comical, instantly recognizable voice in modern American cinema. In "The Coen Brothers: This Book Really Ties the Films Together", film critic Adam Nayman carefully sifts through their complex cinematic universe in an effort to plot, as he puts it, "some Grand Unified Theory of Coen-ness." The book combines critical text-biography, close film analysis, and enlightening interviews with key Coen collaborators-with a visual aesthetic that honors the Coens’ singular mix of darkness and levity. Featuring film stills, beautiful and evocative illustrations, punchy infographics, and hard insight, this book will be the definitive exploration of the Coen brothers’ oeuvre.

Woody Guthrie and the dust bowl ballads / by Nick Hayes. - New York, NY : Abrams ComicArts, 2016. - [272] s. : il. ; 22 cm.
Using the sepia tones of the Dust Bowl as his palette, author and artist Nick Hayes tells the story of world-famous folkie Woody Guthrie (1912–1967), starting in the 1920s when Guthrie was a teenager supporting himself in dried-up, post-boomtown Oklahoma. Picking up a harmonica and eventually a battered guitar, Guthrie finds solace in the ancient lineage of folksong. Hayes charts the musician’s course from Oklahoma and Texas towns ravaged by dust and the Depression to boxcars, factory farms, and the migrant camps of California, highlighting Guthrie’s dedication to singing American folk tunes and creating his own modern classics along the way. Hayes ends his portrait in 1940, at the pivotal time when Guthrie makes his way to New York and writes “This Land Is Your Land,” his iconic anthem tinged with both clear-eyed reality and optimism.

Love comes in many forms. It can feel tart as lemonade, or sweet as sugar cookies. Slow as a lazy morning, or fast as a relay race. Love is there though it all: the large and small moments, the good times and bad. And at the end of the day, love settles us down to bed with a hug and kiss goodnight. With charminh, rhyming text from bestselling author Andrea Beaty and lush, heartwarming illustrations by bestselling illustrator Vashti Harrison, "I Love You Like Yellow" celebrates the unconditional love that pulses through life's profound and everyday moments - and the people who make them so special.

Rosie may seem quiet during the day, but at night she’s a brilliant inventor of gizmos and gadgets who dreams of becoming a great engineer. When her great-great-aunt Rose (Rosie the Riveter) comes for a visit and mentions her one unfinished goal—to fly—Rosie sets to work building a contraption to make her aunt’s dream come true. But when her contraption doesn’t fly but rather hovers for a moment and then crashes, Rosie deems the invention a failure. On the contrary, Aunt Rose insists that Rosie’s contraption was a raging success: you can only truly fail, she explains, if you quit.

A leader of the American art movement known as Pop, short for "popular culture," Warhol changed the way we think of art. Assisted by photographs taken of Warhol throughout his life, and examples of his early drawings and best-known works, author Rubin traces his rise from poverty to wealth, and from obscurity to fame. After attending art school in Pittsburgh, Warhol started a career as a commercial artist in New York, and quickly won acclaim for his creative advertisements. When he turned to "real" painting, he used his background in commercial illustration and blurred the line between high and low art. Some critics have said that Warhol's pictures of Campbell's soup cans and Coca-Cola bottles represent American life. But Warhol said, "I just paint those objects in my paintings because those are the things I know best. I think of myself as an American artist."
